It is really simple to play "guitar pro" tabs under linux.
First you need to install tuxguitar :
yum install tuxguitar timidity++
start timidity in background :
timidity -iAqqq -B8,8 &
start tuxguitar and open a partition :
tuxguitar /path/to/my/part.gp3
then in tuxguitar you need to setup the midi port :
Tools --> Setings --> Sound --> Midi Port --> TiMidity port 0 [129:0]
Select OK. You can now play the tab :)
Then you can open any guitar pro tab ( .gp3 / .gp4 / .gp5)
